In many situations we don’t have internet and sometimes we want to access our Gmail or Calendar but we can’t. Google understand the importance of Offline access to Gmail or Calendar and denouement the situation by launching Gmail Offline Chrome web app extension.

Gmail Offline is a Chrome app developed to access, read, respond to, search Gmail with out having Internet Connection.

After first start-up, Gmail Offline will automatically synchronize messages and queued actions anytime Chrome is running and an Internet connection is available. More than just an offline app, the streamlined user interface, based off Gmail’s popular tablet interface, provides extremely fast response time with a pure, email focused experience.

“When we announced Chromebooks at Google I/O 2011, we talked about bringing offline access to our web apps, and now we’re taking our first steps in that direction” said Benoît de Boursetty, Product Manager in a blog post.

How it Works

After you install the Gmail Offline app from the Chrome Web Store, you can continue using Gmail when you lose your connection by clicking the Gmail Offline icon on Chrome’s “new tab” page. Google Calendar and Google Docs offline will also be rolling out over the next week.
