Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation in association with Microsoft has officially launched the IRCTC APP for Windows 8 and Windows Phone platform, giving you additional means to book tickets on the go.
IRCTC App allows you to book Indian Railway tickets online, check reservation status, get train schedules, plan journey and cancellation of E-Ticket right from the APP. You may also review your Booking history, update your passenger master list and roaming transactions between multiple devices. In addition to that, you get visual maps of train routes, live tiles on Windows Start Screen.
To use this app you need to generate a new TPIN password by login to your IRCTC account and registering for 4-Digit TPIN password. Your credentials would be sent to your registered mobile number with IRCTC. Once you get your 4 digit TPIN password, you may use it for Other Delivery Channels like Windows 8 and Windows Phone devices. But unfortunately, you are not allow to use these app during rush hour i.e. from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. That means your struggle for booking ticket from IRCTC doesn’t end here. The services from 8:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs and 23:30 Hrs – 00: 30 hrs will be blocked for APP users.
