SkyDrive SDKs for Windows Phone 8 and .Net platform available for download

Microsoft SkyDrive team has released a new set of SkyDrive SDK for Windows Phone 8 and .Net platform applications. With these release, developers can now build applications for  both client desktop apps and server side ASP.net applications. The release also include support for Windows Phone 8 apps.

In a Official post, Omar Shahine – Group Program Manager, SkyDrive.com said, “We are happy to announce the release of .NET and Windows Phone 8 SDKs for SkyDrive. With this release you can now create applications that target traditional desktop scenarios and as well as server side scenarios.”

“We have taken advantage of some of the new features that Windows Phone 8 has to offer and provided you with an easy to use programming model by supporting the new Task async pattern and dynamic keyword.” He added.

The blog also highlights few application developed using SkyDrive SDKs features. These applications are IFTTT (If this, then That), DocuSign and GoundGecko.

More Details

.Net SDKs : With this release, developers will be able to build WPF, Windows Form or console applications for client side to use SkyDrive data and create ASP.NET components that connects to SkyDrive. Now, developer also will be able to integrate Microsoft Account service as a identity mechanism. 

Windows Phone 8 SDK : The SDKs comes up with some of the new features from Windows Phone 8 and making the development process easier by supporting new Task  async pattern and dynamic keyword. Using this, Developers can now easily move their Windows 8 code to Windows Phone 8 or vice versa.
