ATI graphics card are about to extinct as AMD has decided to drop the brand name. This is a "customer-centric approach" to branding they say, leaving behind processor-centric.

"The timing is right as far as we’re concerned," AMD said. All the ATI stuff we now be rebranded simply as AMD. However Radeon and FirePro names will remain.
Four years ago AMD bought ATI in a 5.4 billion dollar acquisition in a combination of cash and stock. The result of it is that today AMD’s chipset business is the strongest it has ever been.
