Previously, if you remember, somewhere around in April 09, we have blogged about a contest “ Suggest a Symbol for the rupee “ announced by the Indian Government inviting creative designs from Indian residents to represent the rupee in a simple form.
Five designs were short-listed from over 25,000 applications received from across the country. The short-listed candidates made a presentation on the design in December and the winning design is set to create history in March.
Following are the 5 people who are shortlisted in the contest
- Nondita Correa-Mehrotra, Architect
- D Udaya Kumar, PhD student, IDC, IIT-Bombay
- Shahrukh J Irani, creative director, Publicis Ambience
- Shibin KK, Teacher
- Hitesh Padmashali, Creative Director, JWT
