WinZip Computing has released the latest iteration of its popular compression utility — Winzip 12.0. The new version supports new enhancements that include:
Better photo compression: The new version claims a better compression algorithm which promises no loss in quality for JPEG images — when compressed upto 25%.
New algorithm support: Support for 7Z, CD/DVD, .ISO and .IMG disk file formats has been added along with a new compression algorithm — Lempel-Ziv-Markov chain algorithm. Additionally, with the Pro version, administrators can specify encryption methods made available to each user.
A sightly revamped user-interface completes the change log.
Available for XP and Vista, the standard version costs $29.95 and the Pro version, $49.95 and can be downloaded here.
