Not that there’s anything wrong with that. And we like the excellent battery life, second only to Asus’ Netbooks. So, if extra-long battery life is more important to you than HP’s big keyboard (although the NC10′s keyboard isn’t bad either), Lenovo’s expansion slot, or Dell’s customization options (no SDD or Linux options here, for example), then you’ll be pleased that Samsung finally decided to sell its wares stateside.

Next to HP’s Mini 1000, the Samsung NC10 has the best Netbook keyboard we’ve seen. The slightly tapered keys (which Samsung claims are 93 percent as big as a full-size keyboard) are easy to use, and no important keys have been shuffled around to inconvenient places (although the Tab key is half-size). The touchpad, on the other hand, is hard to use. It’s long but very narrow (only a little more than 1-inch high), which makes scrolling vertically through long Web pages or documents cumbersome.

When it comes to the keyboard, the NC10 easily bests those on the MSI Wind and Eee PC 1000H. The 93 percent–full size layout is comfortable, and the raised keys provided nice tactile feedback. Unlike the Eee PC 1000H, the panel didn’t flex at all. The feel of the keys and the size of the keyboard isn’t all the NC10 has got going for it: unlike the 1000H and the Wind, the key positioning of the NC10 is near perfect. The right Shift key is full size and directly below the Enter key. When typing this review in WordPad we rarely mistyped words.

Sony launched Vaio NW Netbook In the Indian Market, that has added one new notebook to its lifestyle category.The new Vaio comes with new texture, 2-tone color, clear touch pad, 15.5” Real Wide screen and reverse hinge that minimises the store space. Using with an optional ultra-capacity battery, the company’s new HP EliteBook 6930p offers up to 24 hours of battery runtime, a feat achieved by a combination of the battery design itself and energy saving components like LED displays and Intel® solid-state hard drives (SSD ssd ). Good news for all of us who have ever wandered around an airport looking for a socket.

“All-day computing has been the holy grail of notebook computing,” said Ted Clark, senior vice president and general manager, Notebook Global Business Unit, HP. “With the HP EliteBook 6930p, customers no longer have to worry about their notebook battery running out before their work day is over.”

The magical 24 hour figure was arrived at using an industry-standard benchmark test and in terms of power-saving components, the company’s release states that the “HP Illumi-Lite LED display improves battery run time by up to 4 hours compared to traditional LCD displays http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/liquid_crystal_display , while the Intel SSD provides up to a 7 percent increase in battery life compared to traditional hard drives.”
