Glance at World’s first Exclusive Windows 8 camp program in India

On 2nd March, The Park Hotel Hyderabad – More than 270 Windows Enthusiast were get together to celebrate the World’s first Exclusive Windows 8 camp program in India. It was indeed a great pleasure to be the part of this Exclusive Windows 8 Camp program along with few Microsoft Student Partners including Sreekant Nandakumar, Mayank Birla, Shreyas Goonay, Pratik Toshniwal, Kunal Mehta, Nawaz Dhandala, Harsha Nihanth.

The Camp was organized in Hyderabad, India from March 2nd – 3rd, 2012 at the Park Hotel. Primarily, the event focused on introducing Windows 8 and guiding the principle of building a ‘Metro Style’ app to a chosen set of technical/developer audience. During the Camp, Microsoft Experts shared exclusive content related to metro Style App development on Windows 8.

The Amazing part of the camp was 24-hours-no-sleep-just-code session i.e Hackathon. Within 24hrs, We had to build an Metro Style application based on our suggested Idea. Microsoft team were guiding us step by step and helping us by reviewing and suggesting more ideas to built our app. The Guidance were so clean, simple and quite easy to learn the development process of Metro Style application. Most of the audience including me were succeeded in building our first Metro Style Application.

While participant were showcasing their app idea on 3rd march morning, i got a chance to premiere my new short film i.e. I Love Windows Phone in front of that huge audience.

Overall the camp was awesome, Informative and would like to thanks to the Microsoft Windows 8 Camp India team and media agency for all their efforts to make this event a huge success.

Blogger introduces fresh new look

Since few months, you might begin noticing that things look different across Google products. This time Google has makeover its Free blog service provider called Blogger. Blogger has rolled out some cool new stuff this week.

If you have a Blogger blog, here are a couple of changes you’ll notice:

You can Create or Edit post with just one click at the top of screen
The width of Post editor has been expanded to give you a larger canvas for drafting and previewing your work.
In the Overview section, you can quickly monitor how people reacting to your blog including recent traffic numbers, comment activity and followers counts.
A New style Displaying feeds of other Blogs

Google has started updating all Blogger’s blog. Over the next few days, keep an eye out for a pop-up announcement on your dashboard with instructions on how to get started.

Bing Box functionality will be shutting down on 4th April 2011

The Bing Developer team recently announced that the "Bing Box" functionality on bing.com/siteowner will be discontinued on April 4, 2011. From 4^th April 2011, Websites attempting to use search box will be redirected to a 404 page. That means websites interested in receiving web or site search results from Bing, need to be switch to Bing API.

Here what they say:

We have decided to take this step for two reasons.

First, the tool has not been getting a lot of use and while we have some very loyal customers on it, we believe we can provide you better alternatives in the future as we free up resources.

Second, the functionality available through bing.com/siteowner can be replicated with the Bing search API and so it feels a bit redundant.

The Bing box powered by Bing provides a fast, customizable search solution for your website or blog. Visitors to your site can search the entire Web, just your site, or any sites that you choose.

Microsoft WebMatrix V1 Released

Today, Microsoft has released most awaited version 1.0 of its free web platform product Microsoft WebMatrix .

Microsoft Webmatrix is a new web development tool that makes easy for anyone to create a new web site using a template or an existing free open source application, customize it by editing your files, managing your database and modifying your server settings , and then publish it on the internet via a wide choice of hosting service providers.

WebMatrix allows you to implement world’s popular and free open-source Web applications, including DotNetNuke, Umbraco, WordPress, Joomla!, and more. EA SPORTS NHL SLAPSHOTS and NHL 11 released

EA has unveiled that EA SPORTS NHL SLAPSHOTS and NHL 11 are both equally available in stores of North America on September 7, 2010, as well as both games are going to be available in worldwide stores on September 9, 2010 that is today. EA SPORTS NHL 11 is presented for PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system, whereas NHL SLAPSHOTS is available completely for Wii.

"We are extremely excited about our hockey offerings this year,” says Brent Nielsen, executive producer, EA SPORTS. “Our NHL product is consistently one of our strongest titles on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and this year with NHL SLAPSHOT, we feel we’ve created a hockey experience that is unlike anything that has come before it on the Wii."

China successfully launches a new SinoSat-6 communication satellite

China has successfully launched a new satellite SinoSat-6 into space to improve television and radio broadcasting signals in the country. Today the ‘SinoSat-6′ was launched at 12:14 AM from the Xichang Satellite Launch Centre in southwest China’s Sichuan Province. The satellite was carried on the Long (about 180 foot tall) March 3B rocket which took the SinoSat-6 into a geostationary transfer orbit about 26 minutes after the launch.

“SinoSat-6 has a lifespan of 15 years and will work at longitude 126.4 degrees east about 35,700 km above the equator”, said China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASTC), which designed the satellite.It will be used for TV and radio live broadcast signals which improve the signals for people living in remote and mountainous regions.

China has launched the first SinoSat series satellite, SinoSat-1, in 1998. The SinoSat-2 was launched in 2006 but malfunctioned for it failed to deploy its solar panels and communication antennae.

SinoSat-6 will serve as a substitute for SinoSat-3 which was launched on June 1, 2007, according to the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation[CASTC].

NASA to visit Sun closer than ever before

NASA planning an unprecedented project, named Solar Probe Plus to visit and study the sun closer than ever before by no latter than 2018. NASA’s small sized spacecraft will directly enter into the sun’s atmosphere about four million miles away, from our star’s surface. It will examine a region where no other spacecraft ever has reached.

The experiments selected for NASA’s Solar Probe Plus are specifically designed to solve two question of solar Physics with which we are struggling for a decades are as follows:

Why is the sun’s outer atmosphere so much hotter than the sun’s visible surface ?
What drive the Solar wind that affects Earth and our solar system?

The revolutionary carbon-composite heat shield of spacecraft must withstand temperatures exceeding 2550 degrees Fahrenheit and blasts of intense radiation to be in Sun’s atmosphere. The spacecraft will have an up close and personal view of the sun enabling scientists to better understand, characterize and forecast the radiation environment for future space explorers.

NASA’s Historic Image Collection now available on Flickr

NASA, Internet Archive And Flickr had Launched NASA’s Historic Image Collection on the world’s most popular photo-sharing site Flickr, Known as The Commons. The Commons includes images from more than half a century of NASA history and which are also available for comments.

Visitors to NASA on The Commons can help tell the photos’ story by adding tags, or keywords, to the images to identify objects and people, also can communicate with other visitor by commenting on images.These contributions will help make the images easier to find online and add insight about NASA’s history.

The Commons was launched with the Library of Congress to increase access to publicly-held photography collections and provide a way for the public to contribute information and knowledge.
